Reason to Hope:

Siddhant - Sail on

When I first heard the word inclusion I never thought much about it, I did not even think that at one time I would be included and I would be talking about inclusion. But today I can proudly say 'I understand inclusion like no one else because I am inclusion'.

Though it has not been so smooth sailing all along there were times I was scared, really scared mainly about acceptance and attitudes. I was not scared about what my friends would think but I was scared if I would have friends in the first place... I did not want much just someone to help me with the class notes, may be to carry my bag, pass me my water etc…. I got much more at this school. I got encouragement, I got love and I got support.

Though I do feel that the Government needs to do more to change the syllabus…… some more changes are required like not to keep back the children who fail and offer more choices in subject selection and give us training in more job related courses etc.

I joined my new school with little expectations and lots of fear but today 'I am a boy who is living with lots of expectations and very little fear'.

Last but not the least I want to say I can't forget my school (N.R.C.I.) National Resource Centre for Inclusion (S.S.I) because they are the ones who included me in mainstream school and made life better.
